Welcome to my website! I’m Nikki Estrada, a self-taught baker passionate about crafting desserts for special occasions from my registered home-based kitchen.

The Sweet Event Cupcakes began with humble beginnings in 2012, inspired by the arrival of my first nephew. When my sister couldn’t find local bakers, she asked if I could create desserts for her baby shower. Despite having no prior baking experience and dealing with allergies to eggs, wheat, and dairy, I initially hesitated. However, I embraced the challenge and soon developed a genuine interest, honing my skills as a self-taught baker over time.

Guests at my nephew’s birthdays began requesting desserts for their own events, sparking the idea to turn my passion into a side hustle. With a clear vision and determination, I set out to bake custom desserts for those in the South East Suburbs and surrounding Melbourne areas. In 2015, I took the leap and founded The Sweet Event Cupcakes, never looking back.

I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with wonderful customers, Australian brands, and events, as well as support various charities. I’m deeply passionate about working closely with clients to ensure they receive excellent service and delicious desserts for their special occasions.

All my desserts are freshly made, handmade, handcrafted, and custom-designed by me.
